I acquired a new dad today. In Children’s there was a kid, about 8 years old, who was running around with his “son” (his younger brother.) I started playing with them and he asked if I wanted to be his son too, which how could I say no to that, so I became his SPECIAL son. He proceeded to sit me in the car and have me stay there, scolding me every time I got out to work because he had talked to my boss and it was the weekend so I didn’t have to work! But I kept sneaking products back onto the shelves of Kroger so I got put in time out on the bulldozer in KAW (I heard “GET IN THE CAR, SON” so many times today.) And yet there was no time to be upset about it, as he kept giving me new pets throughout the whole family journey (One sea otter, one bunny, two dogs. I was only allowed out of cars if I was walking a dog.) He also kept running around asking other kids if they wanted to be a mom or dad with him regardless of their gender, at one point his younger brother son was also my mom. Once I was out of time out he started taking me back to his car, made two loops around kids town, admitted he’d forgotten where he parked, took me on the bus instead, and brought me to SeaWorld at waterworks. He disappeared shortly after, but….I’ll never forget you, small dad….
