Today I ran Stephanie’s new program Not So Scary Stories for the first time. The first guests I ran it with were super excited when I told them that today was the first day it was on the floor and that they were the first people to do it.
I love the program a lot already, it’s super fun to tell the stories with guests and since we don’t have a bat stuffed animal yet I get to pretend to be the bat with my cardigan as my wings
ME: “What is the best use of a plastic fish?!”(In the woods).
Children: “Model it!!”
*I strike poses with the fish, modelling it*
Children: “Noooooo not like that, model the fish”
*I hang the fish up in the netting of the woods*
Me: “Like this?”
Children: “YES!”
Today I had a lovely family in NTP, they’re from Iowa but they said they swing by Cincinnati everytime they visit their grandparents because it’s on the way. They said that we’re their favorite museum by far. One of them already had 18 seek badges!
They were all super nice and excited that we’re back open.
I went up to a group of young adults in Ice Age and said, “hey wanna know a museum secret.”
They were like, “of course!” And then I told them about the beer bottle and cigarette but and they found it amusing.
Today while I was running Not so Scary Stories I had a group of 6 young friends helping me tell stories together. We told 2, that way everyone could tell a story about the animal that they wanted to (they were pretty split snake and bat). I also had 2 older girls later who helped me tell a very silly story about a slithering spider with wings who escaped a racoon and frog who teamed up to try to eat it.
A young visitor asked me to go down the slide with her again. While waiting our turn for the tunnel, she looked at me and said ‘oh I like your flowers.’ It was a really genuine compliment and made me happy

I amused, and helped guests invest in their future, by letting them know never to get in a staring contest with a snake. As snakes have no eyelids.
