  1. Today while I was in the woods a little girl was going down the slide and once she got down would jump up and down yelling “I did it!” over and over and when I clapped and said “You did it thats awesome!” she yelled louder. Her mom said that she loves praise so everytime she went down the slide I applauded her. It was super cute.

  2. In the woods today a kid finished the butterfly scavenger hunt and I gave him his tattoo. Another kid saw this and said, “I want one!”
I told him he could have one if he did the scavenger hunt and he said, “I did already!”
“Oh, yeah? Where was the last clue?” I always ask this but this kid surprised me.
“I forget, because I did it yesterday!”
    He hadn’t done it.
I showed him where the first clue was, and it turned out, he couldn’t read.
So I helped steer him to each clue, and every time he found one he got more excited. When he finally found the butterfly and told me so, he was so excited that I was glad I hadn’t just handed him a tattoo.

  3. Getting ready for the stage show I made my usual joke: “Plenty of room in front of you have nerves of steel…and if you do, don’t walk too close to magnets.”
A dad leaned down to his young son (who looked confused) and explained, “It’s funny because magnets stick to steel. It’s a science joke.”
The kid nodded with understanding and said to me, without so much as cracking a smile, “You’re hilarious.”
