  1. A young visitor and I were being surprised and excited by the ground hog. I yelled, look what’s that and he yelled, AN OWL. Then made hooting sounds off into the cave

  2. Today one of my favorite families was here. They have a little boy named Edison, who makes me look like a quite introvert. He wants to be a herpetologist when he grows up, and he is also interested in Dinosaurs. As I rotated through the different museums, I ran into him in Dino Hall, Cave Plaza, and TCM. We had great chats in each area. including sitting on the ground and watching the Lazarus Lizards, and discussing if dinos pooped different than Leopard Geckos. They came to TCM as I was running Nano-Nature and after Edison say the program with a couple of folks he knew the whole thing about why the blue butterfly is not really blue and I ended up letting Edison do the program for next few families.

  3. On speaking to a mother and young son on medullary bone and it’s use in determining sex of dinosaurs.
Mom: “so moms have been leeched on by their kids for at least the last 90million years”
Kid without skipping a beat runs jumps and latches on to moms leg.
Kid: “ they leech off you like I do”
I start laughing as I walk away.

  4. On a quiet day in TCM I decided to restock Kroger. I gathered a cart full of stuff and wheeled it in, where I found two little boys playing hard. As I started to restock, they said, “NO! Don’t do that!”
I said why not? Are you guys busy playing?
They said, “No, WE want to put everything away!”
I said thank you, and do you have a dozen brothers?

  5. I was putting the printing letters away in public landing and a little boy walked in with his adult who helped him spell his name. The little boy turned to me and asked, will you play with me can I spell your name? So I told him my name and he spelled it out for me then I thanked him. He asked if I could spend the rest of the day playing with them and the adult said they needed to go for a diaper change.

  6. I was speaking with a family in dino hall and told them about our ice age exhibit. I mentioned the polar bear and the young girl asked if it was alive so I explained it once was. She said it’s stuffed just like in Build a Bear so I agreed it is a similar concept.
