  1. When I was running this program we got to talking about the owls who live in Ohio. We ended up doing almost tag-team Googling of Owl calls, and trying to recreate the sounds the guests had heard on their property so we could try to ID which type of owl that had living there

  2. I had fun singing the frog on the bump on the log song with tiny toddlers by the grey tree frogs. Later I saw them in history and we sang it again and. They tried to follow me. It was really cute.

  3. Today at 3;53 a family of four adults, (I think a young couple and their in-laws) came into the Dinosaur Hall. They know the museum was closing in seven minutes. They were from out of town and had purchased tickets to visit the museum ahead of time. Their plane was 2 hours late, but they really wanted to see the dinosaurs so then came to the museum anyway hoping they could still get it. I gave them a quick tour of the hall hitting the highlights of the exhibit, answering questions and sharing all the “stuff the staff knows that isn’t on the exhibit signs” that came up as we talked. It was really fun to talk with folks as excited about seeing our dinosaurs as I am. When they left at 4:09 they were all excited an happy they had stopped by even if was only for a very sort trip, They said it was like getting a private behind the scenes tour.

  4. Today while I was running Step in Time in CHM I had a family come by, a mother and her two sons, and her oldest who was around 10 put everything in the right order on the first try. I had run into the family earlier in Dino Hall and the two boys were super smart and kept telling me all of the random facts they knew about dinosaurs.

  5. The first family into Little Sprouts this morning included a girl too young to have ever been in the Children’s Museum. She’s been coming to CMC throughout the pandemic, asking “What’s that?” every time they walk past Children’s. Her mom said that Monday was the first time she melted down wanting to see inside, and they were all so thrilled to be inside, playing with all the amazing stuff.

  6. Every single family I met in Ice Age today was knocked out and/or blown away by how incredible the exhibit was. Kids loved exploring everything, while the adults couldn’t get over how elaborate it all looked.
