I rescued a live cicada from outside the front doors. He was crawling on me and a family was engaged. But some people hated him and he flew off of me toward a child. Said child didn’t notice
A young friend had a Pokemon shirt and Stephanie told him the story about why Magikarp turns into Gyrados (it’s a story of how a fish wants to turn into a dragon and does so through hard work). Afterward he wanted to show me all of the Pokemon he caught, so I asked him what some of the designs were based on and to make comparisons between similar ones (like the bull one and buffalo one). After that we transitioned to making observations and comparisons between the frogs and toad in the cave plaza.
June 6th I had a lady teaching her son all about our dinos,( she is a paleontology student) and she started talking about how hadrosaurs are her favorite, and was telling the son all about their crazy teeth, so I showed her the hadrosaur jaw we have in the display, and as she was ooing and aging at it, I went to my deck to grab the Harrisburg tooth I knew was there to show her. She squealed will excitement when I pulled it out. Very fun to see her love of dinos!
Yes we had many of our young children day campers in Dino Hall and I had fun playing with them and having them ask me 20 million questions about dinosaurs and then I told him a story about the exhibit we had a giant of Gondwana and then we can do the steps of the galiomopus with our feet.
