A dad and his young son, frequent visitors, recognized me as the “Bernoulli principle guy” today. The dad says his son has been doing the demo at home by throwing a ball into the air and saying, “Cover your ears!”
“No eyes, no eyes, no eyes,” a young visitor chanted, pitch rising with each declaration. “No EYES,” this time a shriek, his own eyes glued to the place where the fishes’ eyes *should* be. “no eyes,” quieter, a declaration to himself. “No eyes,” a final time. And as if he finally realized the magnitude of his chant, he ran back to a place of eyes, and regular looking fish.
So I was asked by a young guest how big the galleomopus was. I didn’t know the answer, so I asked him if we can measure using our feet. They cried “yes !”so we lined up on the tail end and we want heel to toe to around the dinosaur. They toddlers and I chanted our count as we walked the younger ones just repeating me as they lost count and took ever bigger steps. But one stood firm in their resolve. “61 steps!” He cried with pride as we stopped by the head. Mom stated they would measure his shoe when he got home to find a true measurement. Fun was had by all.
