  1. Had a wonderful conversation about Germany and German immigration with a woman from Germany. She told me the German for parakeet. Wellen sittich It means ocean waves or something like that. It came up when we were talking about the bierhalle and my great uncle helmut who raises parakeets.

  2. Today after the Lycopodium demo I was answering questions from the audience. A kid about 4 years old asked me, in all sincerity:
    “Why are you so cool?”

I wasn’t sure what to say, so I leave it to all of you. Why AM I so cool?

  3. During my debut as a dinosaur during the dino dance party, a little kid was watching me through the window in dino hall mirroring the dance moves I was doing.

  4. I was doing Nano nature and a family was 100% in it. They were drawing connections from home learning to what they were looking at.

It was wholesome to see them draw connections to what they learned

  5. I had a family in dino hall around close, they were worried they weren’t going to see everything due to time. I walked them down, took our time and explained the exhibits along the way. As soon as they saw the space exhibit, an explosion of excitement took over the 3 little girls. The guardian with them, who watched them gallop into the exhibit leaned in and whispered “oh my I’ve never seen them so excited!”

  6. While running Wilderness Tracking, a little boy guessed ‘wolf’ correctly then said part of his name is wolf and showed me his beaded necklace which read WOLF. His adult said that his full name is Wolfgang. I told the boy part of my name is wolf too and I showed him my name tag. The boy then asked me if I know what Pokemon are and I said yes and he told me his favorite is Squirtle and asked me what mine is and I said Pikachu. His adult also told me that wombat poop is perfectly squared and I told him my manager will love to hear this if she doesn’t know it already.

  7. Met a couple visiting from Lafayette Indiana who were self professed space nerds. We geeked out over the Space Exploration Gallery, and they mentioned that they owned a space-themed brewery. Their stout is called “Magnificent Desolation Stout.” I must have some.
