  1. Standing outside Year on the Edge, telling folks about this cool new exhibit. A father, mother, and young daughter walked up to the bobcat, and I started my pitch:
“This exhibit is so cool; it’s photos and specimens from the Edge of Appalachia Preserve about 75 miles from here…”
The dad is nodding along, and finally gets a word in edgewise (see what I did there?).
“Yeah, I’m Samuel James. I took the nocturnal photos in this exhibit…”
Me: “Oh, wow! So I guess I will stop explaining now…”

  2. I found a lost dinosaur toy by the streetcar and on my way exiting the gallery I ran into a coworker who just so happened to have spoken with that child in dino hall. When we found them by public landing the parents thanked me profusely and their son was elated to be reunited with his spinosaurus.

  3. I was walking through Women and the Vote when I saw a young girl rearranging the magnets. She stopped and apologized when she saw me then I reassured her they are there for guests to use. She exclaimed someone had used the magnets to express “women need men now” so she wanted to rearrange the words “before I lose it”.
