I asked a couple what they thought about the astroid impact killing the dinosaurs and was met with head shakes. When I showed the piece with eridium and coal they actually changed their mind, it was great to show evidence and change someone’s mind!
An adult guest entered the history museum wearing a Superman shirt and cape. I asked if they’d seen the super heroes hidden in Cincinnati in Motion and they said, “Yes! It’s awesome!”
I had an amazing chat with someone in the dino hall! The guest was studying to be a paleontologist and we were just shooting cool facts back and forth, I even learned about Allosaurus feeding behavior that I looked into later and there was like 30 years of research behind it. Apparently Allosaurus would use its strong neck muscles and tough skull to make up for its weak jaw muscles and use its upper jaw like a hatchet to cut into flesh as opposed to tearing flesh away by biting down and twisting flesh off. Anyway, our favorite dino was even the same, Parasaurolophus!
I met a guest with her two kids who was in the youth program when she was 12-graduation. She said she met her husband here and enjoyed seeing Children’s before it was open to the public.
